A little bit about
Tanzania safari circuits

The best time to plan a Tanzania safari depends on your interests, but you may do so at any time of year. You must carefully arrange your trip if witnessing the wildebeest migration is your main objective. The optimum time to view the Serengeti migration is from June to September, but since you’ll need to remain in various parts of the park at various times, and since this all depends on the weather, this isn’t entirely reliable.

Accommodations in the Serengeti should be reserved far from the wildebeest migration if you want to avoid the crowds. Any safari could be impacted by the rainiest months, which are March and April.

Tanzania Safari : 8 Questions

Tanzania-Safari

“Tanzania is the ideal safari destination since it provides both quantity and quality. There is an abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities, as well as a wide range of destinations and activities. In fact, it would be challenging to see everything in one Tanzania vacation, let alone three.

There are three distinct safari circuits: the most well-known northern circuit, which features well-known locations like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater; the less well-known southern circuit, which focuses on Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park; and the off-the-beaten-path western circuit, which features Katavi National Park and the chimpanzee reserves on the shore of Lake Tanganyika.

The fact that Tanzania is home to Africa’s tallest summit may surprise experienced mountaineers. Although it typically ascended from the Tanzanian side, Mount Kilimanjaro is located between Kenya and Tanzania.

The best time to go on a safari in Tanzania depends on your interests and can be scheduled at any time of the year. If witnessing the wildebeest migration is the major reason for your trip, cautious planning is required. The optimum time to view the Serengeti migration is from June to September, but because you’ll need to stay in different parts of the park at different times of the migration and because this all depends on the weather, this isn’t entirely reliable.

You should reserve lodging in the Serengeti distant from the wildebeest migration if you want to avoid the throng. Any safari may be affected during these months because they are the wettest.

“Tanzania has excellent animal viewing. The northern circuit of a Tanzanian safari includes Lake Manyara, Tarangire, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. The game viewing in any of these parks is excellent, albeit some of it is seasonal. The experience is enhanced by completing the entire circuit because you will pass through a variety of habitats and environments.

Although it is possible to escape the throng due to the expanse of the parks, you will occasionally find yourself surrounded by other tourists as this is the most popular circuit. You can visit the southern circuit, where game watching is slightly more difficult but still excellent, if you truly want to get away from all the same.

This circuit may be better suited to frequent travelers to Africa who are less driven to see the Big Five. though Serengeti and Ngorongoro offer the same

“Large groups are not the target audience for Tanzania trips. Though it obviously costs more, the greatest way to explore the parks is on a custom safari for two to four individuals who book together as a family or group of friends.

Budgeting for a trip is challenging because there are so many factors to consider. A beginning price of US$500 per person per day is recommended. As an illustration, camping safaris are typically less expensive than resort safaris.

In contrast, the Serengeti and some other northern circuit parks include large hotels that are significantly less expensive than the intimate lodges and tented camps, despite the fact that the latter are frequently more rudimentary.

Another significant factor is the time of year. If you’re willing to visit during the rainy season, there are reduced rates available, but visiting during the height of the wildebeest migration will cost you more.

“The tourism business in Tanzania is savvy and well-established, and safaris there are generally very safe.

However, major cities like Mombasa and Dar es Salaam have high rates of petty crime, making it unsafe to wander the streets alone. In Arusha and other urban tourist hot spots, tourists are occasionally targeted, but the trouble is typically innocuous and is primarily caused by touts trying to sell them something (anything from safaris to beaded necklaces). Usually all it takes to diffuse any issue is being solid and standing your ground.

In any case, most tourists visiting Tanzania don’t spend much (or any) time in cities, so none of this is likely to be a problem.

“Tanzania’s safari sector is well established, and there is a good selection of lodging available. The most affordable method to travel is with an outfitter that offers cozy camping safaris; also, it heightens the sense of adventure.

There are tented campgrounds offering varying degrees of luxury if genuine camping isn’t your thing but you prefer the romanticism of tented lodging. These camps have real beds and flushing toilets inside.

There are motels that completely cut off from the countryside for guests who would rather spend their evenings in a less wild setting. This reduces the likelihood of finding creepy-crawlies in your bed.

However, the current craze is for upscale designer lodges that blend in with their surroundings while providing an unmatched degree of luxury and service. There are no restrictions!

“When taking a Tanzania tour, you can anticipate a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, or perhaps the first of many to come. After getting the safari bug, most individuals keep going back to explore the African bush. Too much time away is challenging.

Tanzania is the ideal location for first-time safari travelers because the northern circuit’s game viewing and African landscapes exceed all expectations. As you won’t be able to take advantage of all the touring choices on your first trip, Tanzania is also the ideal place for return tourists.

Experienced African safari enthusiasts will delight in some of the more isolated parks, which have a variety of species, including chimpanzees in the west and wild dogs in the southern circuit.

U.S. and Canadian citizens traveling to Tanzania must get tourist visas. A&K advises getting a tourist visa online (eVisa). Visit eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa to submit an online application.
